Giving for Donors

GIFT VIII – Make a gift with 3x the impact!

A $2 match for $1 given creates a $3 impact in your community.

What is Gift VIII?

The Madison County Community Foundation (MCCF) is excited to announce an incredible matching opportunity for donors made possible by a $1,500,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. GIFT VIII (Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow).

The GIFT VIII matching grant funds allow Indiana community foundations to: grow their financial resources to promote long-term viability and sustainability; further strengthen their leadership capabilities; and develop and implement strategic programs, projects, and initiatives that enhance their communities’ quality of life.

Leverage the Matching Opportunity

The Madison County Community Foundation will match gifts made to the IMPACT MADISON fund. We will match gifts with $2 for every $1 donated through December 31, 2025, or until the match dollars are exhausted, whichever comes first. Impact Madison funds, also known as unrestricted funds, allow MCCF the discretion to make grants that meet needs and opportunities as they evolve and change over time in Madison County.

Ways to Give

Cash

You can donate cash online or by mailing a check, and can even include memorial or honorary tribute details with your donation.

Appreciated Securities

Publicly traded stock and mutual fund donations can be up to 20% more valuable than selling the stock & donating the proceeds, and most donors can claim a tax deduction for the stock‘s full value.

Real Estate

Residential, commercial, and even farmland may be given at appraised value, with prior Community Foundation approval and acceptance, so that donors can receive a full charitable deduction and avoid capital gains taxes.

Transfers from Charitable Entities

If you have a private foundation or other donor advised fund and are concerned with succession planning or don’t have time to manage your foundation, you can transfer those assets to create a charitable fund at the Community Foundation.

Qualified IRA Charitable Distributions

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA to several types of charitable funds at the Community Foundation that will count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), effectively lowering your adjusted gross income and bringing about important tax benefits.

Gifts of Grain

Donating grain to the Community Foundation prior to selling can remove the sale proceeds from farm income and therefore eliminate a portion of federal, state, county, and self-employment taxes.

Crypto Currency

You will never be charged any fees, with 100% of the net proceeds going in support of our mission. Most donors can claim a tax deduction for the full value of their crypto donation.
